Delicate Color: a workshop with @demiink__
October 01, 2026

On Sep 27 and 28 we hosted Delicate Color, a two-day workshop with @demiink__.
Six tattoo artists took part, travelling to Milano from France, the United States, Iceland, and Israel.
Delicate color is a way of working with pigment in thin, controlled layers rather than saturated fills. It depends on restraint: how much pigment goes in, and when to stop.
Each day opened with theory. Demi wrote a workbook for the occasion, and its chapters follow the problems color artists actually meet: how skin responds differently to round needles and magnums, and why color turns muddy when two hues sit too far apart on the wheel. On the screen, the slides went into the mechanics of packing color evenly across a larger area.

The rest was practice on synthetic skin, at stations set up across the studio floor. Demi worked at her own station first, then moved between the others, reading each piece up close.

Each participant found a kit waiting, with synthetic skin, the workbook, and a handwritten note. Lunch was on the terrace, between the morning and the afternoon.

Workshops are a natural extension of the guest program. Every week TWWTS hosts artists from across Europe and beyond, and most of what they know stays inside the finished piece. A workshop makes that knowledge visible, and passes it on to other tattoo artists.

More workshops will follow. Dates will be announced on Instagram and in the newsletter.
